YWAM Budapest Vision

A passionate community called to transform the emerging generation into passionate followers of Christ and powerful agents of change. 

As Hal was praying about starting the work here in Budapest, the movie “Field of Dreams” had a big impact on him.  In the movie, a man builds a baseball field in his cornfield after hearing a voice tell him, “If you build it, they will come.”  That baseball field became a place where people could live out their dreams, and Hal’s desire is for YWAM Budapest to be a sort of “Field of Dreams.”  God has brought people from all over the world to Budapest with dreams in their hearts to minister to the city and region.  As a base, we’re committed to help support you and the dream God’s put in your heart.

One of the questions you’ll hear Hal ask a lot is, “What’s in your heart?”  We’re not a base that’s going to stick you in a box and assign you to a ministry.  We’re trusting that you’ve heard from God yourself; that He’s poured ideas, dreams, visions, and goals into you.  What’s God calling you to do?  You may have very specific ideas or something general, but we want you to be released into that dream.

Everything in the Kingdom of God starts in prayer, and prayer, intercession, and spiritual warfare pave the way for salvation.  We’re committed to preaching the gospel in many ways: proclamation on the streets, sharing our lives in seeker’s Bible studies, English clubs or conversations at the coffee bar.  There are many Christians in Eastern Europe who haven’t been discipled.  We have 2 DTS’s a year, Bible studies, Summer of Service’s, plus other opportunities for young Christians to grow and put their faith into action.  Lastly, we love helping “launch” people into their own dreams and ministries and provide the help and support they need to serve effectively.  Rather than do the entire ministry ourselves, we love training and empowering people from this region to go and preach, disciple, and bring the Kingdom of God to their part of the world.

Statement of Purpose – YWAM Budapest: 

With Jesus as our source of life and ministry, we are committed to cooperate with the existing Church in Hungary and other mission agencies to evangelize Budapest, as well as other regions throughout Hungary and the Balkans.  We endeavor to disciple and train indigenous leaders by equipping and releasing those called to help fulfill the Great Commission mandate through their local church or in a foreign mission project. 

We as YWAM Budapest have 4 cornerstones of ministry:

·         Evangelism

·         Leadership and Training

·         Releasing and Empowering to do ministry.
