| The Rezkigyo coffee house continues to gain momentum each week
as a place where young people can gather to hang out and experience
the hope of the Gospel. Every Friday night our team of Hungarian
volunteers and YWAM staff meet beforehand to pray for the evening's
events and to get everything ready. At 7:00 the doors open and by
8:00 the place is filling up. Many people simply come to enjoy the
atmosphere and live music, others have questions about God that
they want to discuss. The common denominator among the youth is
their hunger for something radical to believe in, that is relevant
to their lives, and that is worth living and dying for. There are
many philosophies and ideologies out there competing for that place
in their lives. Our role is to share the truth of Christ with them
in any and every way possible and to accept them where they're at.
Our prayer is that everyone would experience God's love in some
form. We want the coffee house to provide a non threatening atmosphere
where people can be themselves yet where they will be challenged
to think about life's most important questions. We feel that this
has been effective so far this year. Many good conversations have
taken place around the tables each week and steps are being made
toward faith in God. The
coffee house is open every Friday night from 19:00 until about
22:30
and on some Saturday
nights we have Theatre performances which is great entertainment and
open mic nights for people to come and try out their talent. We
are looking for more Hungarians who want to work with us and help
organize these events - both Friday and Saturday nights. We need
people to serve coffee, wash dishes, pray, run
the sound system, etc. There
is a place for anyone who has a heart to serve. If you are interested
in knowing more about the Rezkigyo ministry team please contact
Steve Johnson (steve@rezkigyo.hu) or stop by sometime
on a Friday night and check things out in person.
