Discipleship Training School (DTS)

Are you tired of Christian theory and want to see how God can use you to change the world? A DTS is a 6-month course to prepare yourself for ministry. It is a time of intense seeking after God with lots of opportunities to put what you've learned into practice.
Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) aim to
prepare messengers of the gospel, helping students to know God in depth. The
goal is to form Christian character and establish Biblical relationships
while developing a daily walk with God. This intensive Christian training
course begins with an 11 or 12 week classroom phase followed by a typically
12 week outreach.
The DTS is designed to encourage students to develop in personal character,
to cultivate a living relationship with God, and to identify their unique
individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global
awareness are special emphases throughout these courses, preparing the
students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to "Go
into all the world and make disciples of all nations" Matthew 28:19.

FIRST PHASE
You will join with students from all over the world in a classroom setting for 3 months. Each week focuses on a different aspect of God, our relationship to God, and how God uses you to make a difference. Topics include:

Nature
and Character of God - Relationships with others
- Spiritual warfare
- Hearing God's voice
- How to study the Bible
- Evangelism
- Cross Cultural Missions
- Others
You will all live together in community and share the tasks of cooking and cleaning. Each week you have the opportunity to "Touch the city" and participate in an ongoing YWAM Budapest ministry. These include:
- Working with the Rezkigyo coffee bar
- English Conversation Club
- Feeding the homeless
- Helping prostitutes
- Doing street evangelism
- Prayer walking
SECOND PHASE
The
second half of the school (3 months) is the Outreach Phase where
you get a chance to apply what you've learned. Outreach locations
for the DTS have focused on three main locations
- the Balkan countries around Hungary (Romania, Serbia, Bosnia,
Bulgaria, Greece, etc.)
- the Turkic-speaking regions (Turkey and Central Asia)
- India.
You will be helping a long-term work in another country (a church or other mission base) doing evangelism, practical work, teaching, praying, etc.
After completing your DTS, you can then apply for full time staff with YWAM, you can continue to study with other YWAM schools, or you can re-enter your world and change it for Christ.
